There is plenty at stake for fan’s of Joss Whedon’s wildly successful vampire series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel” during this year’s Dragon*Con. Series regulars Julie Benz, Nicholas Brendon, Claire Kramer, James Marsters and Mercedes McNab will be in attendance, as well as “Buffy Season 8” comic series illustrator Georges Jeanty.

“Buffy” followed the exploits of teenager Buffy Summers, chosen to defend the world from supernatural forces from her high school in Sunnydale, California – home of a Hellmouth, from which emanated demonic forces. As much coming-of-age allegory as action-horror adventure, “Buffy” became a critical hit and fan favorite for it’s well-written dialogue and stand-out performances. “Buffy” spin-off “Angel” explored the evolution of Buffy Summer’s true love, Angel – a vampire with a soul – as he took up the mantle of private investigator in Los Angeles. Both shows were beloved for their endearing characters, constantly battling the difficulty of juggling real life with humanity-threatening forces of evil.
Dragon*Con’s Dark Fantasy track will present panel programming spotlighting this cult phenomenon.
